Questions to community leaders
Each student prepares and delivers a question about sustainability in his or her community
to a panel of community leaders.

 
Pondering the origins of marshmallows
Students map and calculate the consumption of their food throughout the camp,
while learning the origins of different foods and their ingredients

 
The Crew: 2nd Annual Wickaninnish Sustainability Camp

Focus on Outdoor Education
Most of the classes at Sustainability Camp are taught outside in the Tofino Botanical Gardens
or on the nearby beaches

 
The Solar Car Challenge
After hands-on learning about the mechanisms and importance of photovoltaics, students play an educational game racing radio controlled cars interspersed with questions about renewable energy

 
Preparing the collage of trash collected along Tofino's pedestrian path
Students learn about the lifecycle of consumer products while cleaning up the bike path and then create a collage to educate others and reinforce their own learning
